Disable Mac OS X Lion 10.7 Startup Chime / Sound 

Write a couple of Mute/Unmute shell scripts as outlined below, add them to the login and logout hooks.

 The files and the parent directories must have the following permissions: 
 -rwxr-xr-xowner: rootgroup: wheel
