Adding non-UCLA people to CCLE Moodle
While staff, faculty and students all have a UCLA Login ID and can log into the CCLE Moodle site easily, and in most cases their Registrar enrollment data will get them into the class sites they need, there are many cases where non-UCLA people legitimately need access, such as thosevisiting inspeakers theto a class, Senior ScholarsScholars, Program.and outside collaborators for collaboration sites.
The following is the current procedure for adding such people to a CCLE Moodle class or collaboration site.
- the person who needs the access creates their own UCLA Login ID at https://logon.ucla.edu/
- the person then logs into http://ccle.ucla.edu with that UCLA login ID. (At this point they will only have access to the public section of the class site and CCLE until the steps below are finished.)
- the person then emails that Login ID to
theirthe contact person that is arranging their access, e.g. Senior Scholars Programstaff.staff, or the department staff or instuctor.. - that contact person is responsible for confirming that this is indeed
someonethe person who should be given access, and then emails cclehelp@ucla.edu requesting that Login ID be given access (and what kind of access) to the specific class or collaboration site needed. - CCLEHELP will then email both of them when access has been granted.
Feel free to update this for clarity or to give more examples. It was taken from the procedure we worked out for the Senior Scholars Program.
