Two Turnitin IDs for one user

A student was getting this error message when she tried to submit her assignment to the Turnitin Activity on the SSC CCLE Moodle class site:

“Uploading user information failed because user email was changed to an address that is already associated with an account. UID: *********- Old Email” *****@ucla.edu – New-Email" *****@g.ucla.edu."

Note that the upload will fail for both the student and the instructor as both face same issue.

Log the event to Jira CCLE-5022

To fix this, contact the CCLE Moodle admins to:

  1. Navigate to the following path: Site administration > Plugins > Activity modules > Turnitin assignment
  2. Click on the “Unlink users” tab at the top of the page.
  3. Search though the list of users to find the user who is encountering the error.
  4. Click the check box for the user
  5. Click the “Relink Users” button

According to Moodle V2 Admin manual, “the Unlink/Relink is still available.”:
