Campus wireless network

PerPlease thesee BOLBOL’s help article (here on campus wifi:

http:https://www.help.bol.ucla.edu/shortcut/answer/952kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB0010954)…

Note: Effective Sept. 13. UCLAWLAN will be renamed UCLA_WIFI

  • UCLAWLAN – This network can be used by Faculty, Students, Staff, authorized guests, and VPN configured users. After connecting to this network, a user should open their web browser. A portal page will then be displayed and the user will need to provide their UCLA Logon and password to access the network. Users that have devices configured with VPN clients (excludes SSL VPN), may also use this network without having a UCLA Logon. Faculty and Staff may create guest accounts for visitors. More information about guest accounts can be found at http://www.bol.ucla.edu/services/accounts/info/guest.html.
  • UCLA_WIFI – This has the same configuration as UCLAWLAN
  • UCLA_SECURE – This network can be used by Faculty, Students, and Staff and is the recommended network for this group of users. Devices must be configured in advance before being able to connect to this network. This network provides the highest level of security. For configuration details see the following knowledgebase article http://www.bol.ucla.edu/shortcut/answer/956.
  • UCLA_WEB – This network is available to any individual on campus. This network is restricted to HTTP (Web) and HTTPS (Secure Web). This network also allows for use of VPN (including SSL VPN) configured devices. VPN is required to use other applications such as e-mail clients, instant messaging, and file sharing clients. This is an excellent choice for users that want to quickly connect to the network and do not need full networking services.
