Data Management Plans in the Social Sciences
Researchers who are applying for grants from federal agencies, or other funders will need to complete a Data Management Plan as part of the proposal. The Social Science Data Archive and the Social Science Grant Support Office is available to anyone for assistance in preparing the plans.
The Social Science Archive maintains a variety of resources on the plans for different funding agencies, boiler plate language, elements to include in a plan, and advice on where and how to deposit data during and after a research project. We also assist in preparation of study documentation, depositing data, and sharing data with others. The Data Archive has been offering this service since 1977 and we have a wide range of expertise and advice to offer for any kind of data management issues. We work with faculty and students and will work with you to manage your data throughout the life cycle of your research.
The Data Archive is located in room 1120-H in Rolfe Hall and we can be reached at 310-825-0716. Our web site is http://dataarchives.ss.ucla.edu/
