SSC Novell Client Installation for Windows Vista

Instructions for Installing the Novell Client on Windows Vista (SSC)

1) Choose Custom Installation
2) Do not install ANY additional services (uncheck NMAS, etc…)
3) Go to Novell Properties

• a. Advanced Login
• b. Clear Connections – Turn to On
• c. Forgotten Password – Turn Off
• d. NMAS Authentication – Turn Off
  4) Go Advanced Settings
• a. File Caching – Turn Off
• b. Server Cache Timeout – Set to 0 seconds
  5) Reboot
  6) Right Click on the Novell Icon – Go to Novell Login
  7) Type in “anything†for the Username (no password needed at this point)
  8) Type in “SSCNET†for the Tree (no context/server needed at this point)
  9) CLICK “OKâ€, there will be an error for incorrect login/password
  10) After the error, the tree and contexts will appear
  11) Select the appropriate tree and context
  12) Enter correct username/password
  13) Users to should see the mapped drives now
