1Password icon displaying twice in Firefox 29

1Password 3.9.20 add-on for Firefox displays both the “1P” and the 1Password key icon in the Firefox toolbar in Firefox 29.0.

This is a result of 1Password’s add-on not yet properly supporting Firefox 29’s new UI— Firefox 29 changes extension display behavior.

  1. Open Firefox 29
  2. Click on the hamburger button in the upper-right corner
  3. Click on “Customize” in the lower-left corner of the popup window
  4. On the toolbar, you should see the following text: “Show 1Password” (no quotes)
  5. Right-click on “Show 1Password”, then click on: “Remove from Toolbar”
  6. Click on the green button labelled “Exit Customize”
