This web design tip I just read is ingenious and priceless, if we can just get our clients to accept the condensed versions.

Speaking generally, Steve Krug's Third Law of Usability states:"Get rid of half the words on each page, then get rid of half of what'sleft." (Don't Make Me Think, page 45)Here's a neat trick: copy the text from a "blah-blah" page and paste itinto Word. Then, run Tools > AutoSummarize (at least that's what it'scalled in Word 2004 for Mac). Set it to reduce it to 25% of the original.I tried this with a couple of pages and was surprised at how well itworked. If we could just build this into the CMS...
