What is the ETC?
The ETC is UCLA’s Experiential Technologies Center, which was established to focus on the use of new technologies for research in diverse disciplines including architecture, the performing arts, classics, archaeology, foreign language studies, and education. Projects at the ETC explore a wide range of phenomenological issues including movement, sequencing, sonification, and visualization.
Located within the Department of Architecture and Urban Design in the School of Arts and Architecture, the ETC was created to support cross-disciplinary, collaborative research and educational work by faculty and students, to foster partnerships between UCLA and other colleges and universities, and to provide a robust K-12 outreach program. The Visualization Portal, 3D Modeling Lab and the Sound Lab all play an important role in the supporting the center’s work.
